Fantastic news! Regular hirers of the Meads Community Centre will not have to pay hiring fees this month. In return, users of their groups can expect to benefit from offers and discounts this February. Watch this space!

Air Conditioning for The Meads Medical Practice

The Practice Manager Carol Cable at The Meads Medical Practice has asked to publish their letter to residents regarding installation of much needed air conditioning at the surgery, work beginning in May 2018 and due to be finished by the first week of June.


Rock Choir Needs Men!

The Meads Community Centre has so much going on for all ages but now boasts a Rock Choir! According to Rock Choir member Sue Gardiner, the Rock Choir needs more men! Having said that all are more than welcome! If you love to sing, even if you think you can't, why not book a free taster session? There is no audition, no need to be able to read music. Just click on the Rock Choir logo above to go to and book your place!

Meads Henge nearly complete!

Thanks to Andy Dinsdale, the Woodland Wildlife Hidden History project, Canterbury Archaeological Trust and members of the community, The Meads Community Woodland nearly has its own Henge replica which is a take on a neolithic monument which once stood close to what is now the Jenny Wren pub!


The Meads Community Centre now open!

A massive well done to everyone involved in making The Meads Community Centre happen. It's been exciting publishing all the new activities that have already started or soon to start at the new centre including Zumba, Community Choir, Children's Dance Classes, Powerhoop, Running Club and Fit for a Princess. Check out The Meads Community Centre page under the Places menu which lists all the activities available. New Meads Ward councillor now in place

Well done to all those Meads residents who went out and voted on Thursday 7th May at the Jenny Wren. Whilst MP Gordon Henderson retained his seat in the Sittingbourne & Sheppey Constituency, the Meads ward now has its very own councillor James Hunt following the election.


First Litter Angels Bin on Meads-Bobbing School Route

Local charity Litter Angels in partnership with McDonalds and Swale Borough Council has installed its first bin under the A249 flyover at the Bobbing Roundabout. The bin came about after a Litter Angels workshop in October 2014 at Bobbing Primary School. Kid power!
